"An opulent, gorgeous, romantic and well cared for home"

Nice location. Removed from the hustle and bustle but close in, too. Relaxing. Well designed home with very tall ceilings and gorgeous decor.

The house manager helped us with activities, drivers and and lovely home cooked meals. Beautiful and relaxing.. every detail thought of for us. I will be back! Stunning UNESCO town. KF

"The saturated colors of San Miguel and Casa de Angel"

We arrived in Queretaro to be greeted by Daniel, the house manager, tour guide and now friend. Daniel has a gift of reading his guest. In the hour plus it takes to drive to SMA, Daniel asserted himself and took us to a delicious restaurant on the way into SMA. The menu was seafood which to our surprise was delicious being that there is no ocean close by. This restaurant was a local favorite and it was nice to experience a not so touristy spot.

We arrived at Casa de Angel. Wow! It was hard to tour the entire house In the minutes after we arrived because everything I feasted my eyes on was a work of art. The house itself and its grander had an architectural flare... There was nothing the architect, builder, designer did not think miss. From the beautifully tiled room, hand painted entry way, wood carvings, and beautiful outside settings.

My husband and I traveled with our 3 teenagers. The bedrooms were large and very comfortable. The fire places warmed our rooms the first morning, after that the sun was our heater. There are 2 sitting areas one on each floor. At times we would all gather to read a book or look through the pile of tour guides left by the owners and their guest.

The hand painted ceilings, walls and fireplace were so spectacular as was the view from our terrace.

There was no need for an alarm clock for the neighbor's rooster would give a small "grito" to wake us from our slumber. We always felt safe and knew that if we needed anything Daniel's family was just across the way.

On some mornings, coffee and pastries or left over tamales would fill us up for the journeys we would embark.

Our first morning, Andrea, Daniel's sister, prepared breakfast which included fresh squeezed orange juice, tamales, fresh fruit, corn tortillas, eggs and bacon.

We aren't one to have people wait on us, so we all helped preparing or cleaning up after a meal.

We asked Andrea if she would teach us how to make traditional dishes of Mexico. She was amazing in the artistry of cooking. And we now know how to prepare Horchata, chilaquiles, posole, and flan.

Daniel made great suggestions for us and we took his advice to walk down to el Centro and take a taxi back. The trek back is not for the ill at heart. We attempted the trek once and once was enough.

We did the home and garden tour which was nice and the homes were beautiful. With as much art as there is in SMA I would have preferred touring homes with an extensive art collection. The home and garden tour is only on Sunday and the tour starts promptly at the Bibliotheca (library of San Miguel). Tickets can be purchased there and American or pesos are taken. No credit cards.

The following days were filled with shopping, gallery tours, and great restaurants.

We booked two tours with Daniel. The hot air balloon which was fascinating and horse back riding. If you decide to do these trips with Daniel, not only will you get a great history of San Miguel, but Daniel will shoot some amazing pictures of you and the scenic beauty the city offers. Don't forget a Zip drive (at least 8 gig) as Daniel will gladly share the photos he captured.

In all l, our journey was more than we expected. Daniel, Andrea, and the staff at Casa de Angel was beyond excellent. It's no wonder every review we read prior to our trip was excellent. We are so appreciative of Daniel and his family for their genuine hospitality.

Thank you Sarah (travel agent) for the support and great communication when booking our trip. We are already talking about our next journey back.

To the owners of Casa de Angel, thank you for opening your home. It is truly a beauty.

With love from Texas!

"Second time around!"

This will be the second time I've stayed here, and it was just as great as the first! I love this Casa! The view is the best and I could hang out on the top area all day and night! Would recommend the Casa de Angel over and over!! Daniel and Sarah are the best for helping with arrangements!

"Beautiful casa, what a view!"

The view from the roof top is stunning. The house is spectacular. The roof top has a hot tub, gas grille, and fire pit. There are 4 fireplaces in the casa for those cool winter mornings. A woman from across the street will cook you the most wonderful dinner for a very reasonable fee. Daniel, who was our tour guide and transportation to and from the airport was a walking history book, and loads of fun too. What's not to like? The kitchen is awesome and every morning we would open the balcony doors to let the warm morning sun in. The sounds of birds was everywhere. They live in the vines that cover the front of the casa. Each morning started with coffee in front of the gas fireplace as we decided what to do(or not to do) that day. The beds were so comfortable. The artwork and decorations tastefully arranged. again, what's not to like? The walk to the centro is a bit steep and the walk back a tough one. But we soon learned that the taxi's are super cheap and the local bus only 5 pesos! We walked when we felt like it and often cabbed it back at night. we had an issue with a couple of the fireplaces and it was fixed immediately. So, what's not to like? Our family created a lot of memories during the week we visited SMA and the beautiful casa is at the heart of many of them. I would find it hard to make a better choice.

"The Perfect Vacation Home!"

You can't find a more relaxing place - and one surrounded by beauty, history, and culture. The house is gorgeous and comfortable, five spacious rooms, comfortable common spaces, a beautiful breakfast/dinner table, and great outdoor space -- a terrace on the roof with fireplace, jacuzzi, and views of the setting sun over the city, and a yard below where kids can run around. And the surroundings are magnificent - San Miguel de Allende is one of Mexico's most picturesque cities and the heart of town is only 5-10 minutes walking away, and the historic cities of Guanajuato and Dolores Hidalgo are each a mile away. Plus, there is a convenient shopping mall a five minute drive away and quite a few amenities close by too. You are perfectly positioned between comfort and beauty, between contemporary amenities and a walk through Mexico's past.

"A fantastic experience all around!"

This lovely house was the perfect setting for our group of six women gathering together for a writing and art retreat. It is very spacious with exceptional decor and amenities. We spent almost every evening on the gorgeous terrace taking in the amazing sunset views and sipping wine or a margarita in the hot tub. I cannot say enough about our wonderful young chef, Erica, who cooked breakfast every morning and several delicious dinners. The chile en nogada dish was phenomenal and we will never forget it. She made us fantastic fresh salads that were almost like works of art! After a day enjoying the fantastic city of San Miguel, we were always happy to get back to our beautiful casa at the end of the day. We will definitely come back soon

"Way better than the pictures!"

Right when we walked in the door we were blown away. Casa de Angel was very clean and the house decor made us feel like San Miguel royalty! A group of 10 of us came for a long wedding weekend and we had a blast. We had plenty of room for all of the guests with several living/dining areas we didn't even use. So much space.. We spent a lot of time on the rooftop deck with hot tub and enjoyed the wonderful view of the city. Great lounge chairs on the rooftop made it a favorite spot among our guests. The casa's wifi worked great since several of us did not have an intl' cell plan. Everything from the house, patio, and garden were kept in pristine condition. We were picked up from the airport by Daniel, the property manager, and he was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a lot of good information before we arrived to the casa. While at the casa, we did not have a vehicle but usually walked into town (5-10 minutes) and then would take a taxi back and it was usually 40-50 pesos ($2-$3 USD), So not bad at all! Overall, I highly recommend Casa de Angel for anyone with a large group who wants to have a great time! Plenty of room and very clean!

That's all I could say as soon as we walked in the front door - "Wow." What a stunning home, the photos simply don't do it justice. Casa de Angel is so spacious and grand, it felt absolutely decadent that my husband and I had the entire place to ourselves! The decor is beautiful, you can tell that each piece was carefully and lovingly chosen by the owners - they did an amazing job of showcasing the gorgeous textiles and folk art produced in this region of Mexico. And everything you could possibly need for a comfortable, luxurious stay is provided for you. Daniel was so sweet and checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure we needed for nothing, and his brother Eric gave us a ride to and from the airport, making it very easy and convenient for us, travel-wise. We fell into the perfect routine almost immediately upon arriving - into town for breakfast in the morning and shopping/exploring the city until early afternoon. Then we'd head back up to the casa where my husband would relax and read in the cool indoors or out on the shaded back patio, and I would soak up the gorgeous Mexican sun on the HUGE rooftop terrace. After siesta time we'd head back down the hill into town for dinner and more walking around the town before heading back up to the house to catch the incredible technicolor sunsets. Absolutely perfect. This was one of the most relaxing, rejuvenating vacations I've ever been on - I came back completely recharged and head over heels in love with San Miguel! And finally, I have to mention, the shopping is outstanding here - my advice is to pack light because you will want plenty of room for packing up all the treasures you'll acquire during your stay! Definitely check out Ave Maria at Relox 26 - super fun store, lots of clothing, artwork, and artesania items with a kitschy, modern, stylized twist. Love love love - my only regret is that I didn't find this place earlier and buy more. I guess I'll just have to come back... :) Overall, we loved our time in San Miguel and the casa was the perfect home base for all our adventures. Words can't describe how magical the city is, how warm and friendly the people are, and how gorgeous Casa de Angel is. We're already planning our next stay!

"Magnifico !! More than excellent !!!"

One of the best vacation rentals. Beautiful house and magnificent amenities. Beautiful location within a charming city. Nice short walk to the town square (downhill). Going back you can take a cab since it is up the hill. House keepers check your needs and Daniel was of big help. Highly recommended !! I can come back in this place anytime.

First let me say I have stayed in several 5 star vacation spots before but there has never been anything quite as breathtaking as Casa De Angel! The hospitality of Daniel and his wife were very sincere and made you immediately feel that you were in your home away from home. They live right across the street so if you need anything you can call them.

The Casa itself was impeccable. Every room's decor was thought out to provide the ultimate visual experience. The amenities were beyond anyone's expectations, from kitchen utensils to the helpful Magic Jack that provided long distance international calling without additional charges for those of you that cannot stop working. There is a magical roof top hot tub, and BBQ and fire pit with breathtaking views of this enchanted city. If you don't feel like going out to eat, ask Daniel's wife to come in and cook you an authentic meal. She is amazing! The city is totally safe. There is so much to see, you will be sad to leave and when you return, you WILL STAY AT NO OTHER PLACE but Casa De Angel!

"Beautiful house and wonderful support staff"

This was a superb vacation experience for my wife and I and 3 other couples, on a week-long vacation during Semana Santa. Sarah, the booking agent worked with me to answer all our pre-trip questions, and suggested I contact Daniel, the on site manager for other questions.

It happened that Daniel also has a tour business, and had a driver pick us up at the bus station and give us our keys and introduce us to the amazing house (the pictures don't do the house justice).

He also gave me a list of Daniel's cell number, taxi numbers, and the days the maid would clean. I talked to Daniel via phone the same day and he set up a nice tour visit to the nearby town of Delores Hidalgo at a very reasonable price Daniel was available by phone every day, without being intrusive.. The maid did an excellent job of cleaning three days during our stay. The gardener and maintenance man were there working but were not in the way.

Daniel, his wife and family prepared a delicious sit-down Mexican meal for the birthday celebration of one of our friends.

"Amazing house in the most amazing of Mexican Towns-San Miguel Allende"

Spent a WONDERFUL long weekend with friends at the house. Sarah was very kind and helpful with the booking process. Daniel received us upon our arrival and kept in touch during our stay, was very attentive and a great host. The house is STUNNING and exceeded our expectations. It has very spacious rooms, a great kitchen and a BREATHTAKING ROOFTOP! It is located around 15 min downhill walking to the Jardin and has a wonderful view of the whole town! GREATLY recommended to stay at the casa with friends or family. We are definitely looking forward to our next stay at Casa de Angel. Thank you Sarah and Daniel for having us!

"Casa de Angel...a little bit of heaven"

Think of sitting in a hot tub on the spacious roof of Casa de Angel, looking down on the twinkling lights of lovely San Miguel de Allende, a full moon overhead, and the scent of lemon blossoms in the evening air. And in the morning, wake up in a luscious bed in a palacially appointed room and smell the coffee wafting from the kitchen—one of our friends is up and at it! There were eight of us enjoying the amenities of Casa de Angel for a week in early March, all women, all writers from Galena, IL. So much to write home about! Each morning we'd trek downhill into the town and enjoy the shops, the gardens, the cafes. Usually around siesta time we'd head back uphill with a couple taxis, always easy to find. And in the late afternoon, down we'd go again to the enchantment of San Miguel. And later, back to Casa de Angel, we'd warm up a mildly chilly night, gathering by a fireplace in one of the living rooms, or up on the roof, circling the cheerful fire pit. One special morning, Daniel's wife with his sister cooked a delicious breakfast for us, served on the big wooden dining table garnished with a big bouquet of roses overlooking one of the gardens. We all adored Daniel and found his history of working with troubled teens in the US fascinating. He's a multi-dimensional guy and ready to answer any problem. The Casa de Angel, adorned with colorful bougainvillea, is a total delight. We're already signed up for next year!

"Casa de Angel is a beautifully appointed, well situated place, well served by excellent support staff."

My husband and I and four other couples stayed at Casa de Angel for five nights/six days as part of our trip to Mexico. From our first moment of welcome we were seduced by the beautiful door, flower covered walls and welcome smile. The beautifully appointed villa with fresh flowers in every room, accommodated five couples very well. The beautifully appointed villa had both ample space for togetherness and yet supported independent time as well. (Who could resist a lovely patio table, surrounded by pots of flowers and lavender looking out over beautiful San Miguel for quiet reading and writing). The rooftop deck was a perfect place to gather to watch the beautiful sunsets, examine the starry sky, sit around the fire pit to visit and talk, barbeque and generally relax and enjoy the spectacular view of San Miguel. The smell of orange blossoms, pots of lavender and other beautiful plants added to the ambience and pleasure.

The location is excellent, only 10 to 15 minutes downhill to Le Jardin and the sites of San Miguel. If a taxi is required, it is very inexpensive and taxis are plentiful and can be flagged at the corner to go down and anywhere in town to get back. Many of us took the walk down and taxi back in hilly San Miguel!

We were well supported by Daniel and the amazing crew. Whether it was to arrange our day outing to Guanajuato, cook us meals or answer any of our questions they were there for us. And the meals were amazing! We celebrated a birthday of one of our friends for one evening included a delectable birthday cake organized by Daniel.

This is a perfect place for a gathering of friends and/or family, well located, beautifully decorated and well supported by Daniel and his crew to take care of your every need. We all would highly recommend Casa de Angel.

"Beautiful home with a beautiful view"

This home is truly spectacular! I visit this wonderful city every year and this time I came with my husband and a group of friends who had never been to San Miguel before. They couldn't get over the house, the amenities or San Miguel. The walk into the Jardin is only 10 minutes down beautiful cobblestone streets and charming neighborhoods. For those who wanted, taxis were very available both down the hill and back up. Daniel was very helpful and very friendly. He and a driver provided transportation to and from the airport and for a group who wanted to spend a day touring Guanajuato and other nearby towns. We hired Laura, our maid who came 3 days a week, to cook for us one night. Laura, her mother, and a friend spent the day cooking, serving and cleaning up for 10 people! We were only expecting them to prepare the meal and leave it for us, but they spoiled us with complete service. The water is run through a filtration system, so you don't have to worry about drinking it right out of the tap or cooking with it. Beds were comfortable, fireplaces were cozy, not one thing wrong with Casa de Angel.

"A little bit of Paradise in the heart of San Miguel"

Our family had the pleasure of staying in Casa De Angel this January 2015 and were delighted with the gorgeous accommodations! We are a very well-traveled group and have rented many homes in the past. This one is truly a 5-star!

The location was excellent, the home comfortable, very clean and spacious. Loved the decorations and spectacular views of San Miguel's Zocalo. Betty, our housekeeper, was very helpful and gladly accommodated our request to hire her for daily breakfasts done up in true Mexican grand style.

"Beautiful, comfortable, spacious, full of details"

We enjoyed beautiful San Miguel De Allende during a week as a family celebrating New Year's Eve. The house is superbly furnished and equipped, with many spaces both for spending time together as well as resting independently from the large group. A beautiful terrace with spectacular views of SMA was a frequent site for our gatherings.

We were eight people that travelled to this lovely house and the only complaint was that we didn't have enough time to fully appreciate it. However, that is easily rectified with a return visit to this charming house and town. The house staff was very helpful and very friendly. Betty's breakfasts were delicious and beautifully displayed. Additionally, This is a great place to base yourself to explore this interesting and fun town. Just make sure to bring those comfortable walking shoes!

"AWESOME, AMAZING and etc, etc, etc"

just returned for San Miguel and staying at the Casa de Angel! What can I say? There are not enough words to express this place! We absolutely loved it!! Besides the place being amazing, the people I dealt with for making arrangements (Sarah) was truly wonderful! Betty the one who keeps up the cleanlinessand more of the Casa was a complete and total sweetie! She is right across the drive if you need anything! I would go back in a second! Just be prepared to walk alot, but cabs are everywhere if you need them! You will discover so much more ... walking!! It is an amazing, relaxing Casa and city....I recommend it 1000 times over!

I spent 2 weeks in this very well appointed house with friends coming each week. There are 4 very large bedrooms and 1 small one with 5 bathrooms, many outdoor terraces and eating areas, 2 living rooms, huge dining room, and good size kitchen. Everything is very comfortable and excellent driving help and tour destinations are a phone call away. The weather is ideal too in San Miguel de allende; we slept with our windows open every night. We plan to go back next year and stay longer.

Welcomed by the grand entrance of the casa, our breath was taken away. Every detail from fresh flowers to the master sized rooms, panoramic views and the warm house keeping family to enhance our welcoming and stay. Our greatest expectations were met and exceeded. The brief ten minute stroll down the cobbled streets was enjoyable as we soaked up the colonial feel of San Miguel. Once in the jardin, the doors were open to possibilities. Our favorite outings were visiting the hot springs, shopping at the outdoor mercados, touring La Parroquia and being one with the culture. While dining in the town square, we saw everything from parades, a live orchestra and choreographed dancing. When we weren't out sightseeing, we gladly were at the very accommodating house enjoying the hot tub on the terrace, the grand kitchen and bedrooms, and beautiful sunsets. A weeks stay wasn't near long enough. I am already planning my stay at Casa de angel!

Our large family spent a wonderful week at Casa de angel for the Christmas holidays last year. The home is very roomy and even prettier than it looks in the pictures and everyone (Scott, Daniel, Gracia) from reservation to departure made it one of the most memorable vacations we will have as a family.

The roof top balcony has a beautiful view of the city and is the perfect place for a family to spend time together after the days in San Miguel and nearby cities.

We hope to make Casa de angel our home again next time we visit San Miguel! Thank you!

We rented this home as the headquarters for our family reunion and could not have asked for a more perfect place. If you are hosting a large group, this home will serve you well. It not only has 5 spacious, new bedrooms and more restrooms than you can feasibly use, but it has several beautiful gathering spaces indoor and out which allow for groups of people to relax and enjoy each other's company without feeling cramped. We had 10 family members stay at the house in wonderful luxury, but we hosted 28 members for dinners three nights in a row! We cooked large meals in the modern kitchen and held a memorable bbq on the third floor terrace at sunset - amazing. We also arranged (via Daniel, the caretaker) to have a dinner prepared and served for us upon arrival. We asked for home-cooked, traditional Mexican fare and got an excellent five-course meal. It turns out that the cook is his mom who lives across the street! She was a wonderful neighbor to have because we kept borrowing stuff from her during our stay. Everyone agreed that this home was an ideal mix of public and private spaces which made for a warm gathering with amazing family photographs and memories.

One of the great advantages this home has over others is that it is new construction. It has been designed and beautifully decorated (the pictures do not quite capture the beauty of the rooms. And, much detail and artwork has been added to it.) to look like the old homes in San Miguel, but it is much more spacious and has all the modern amenities you don't get in most rentals in San Miguel. In addition, the location allows for the awesome views of the whole town with enough distance to allow for a quiet night's rest. We comfortably walked down into town each day and smartly took a taxi home each evening. The 10 minute walk is much easier on the way down! This home will be part of our family's memories for many years to come. Thank you, Scott!

Our group of 10 adults just returned from a fabulous week in Central Mexico headquartered at Casa de angel. Guide and property manager Daniel Hernandez picked us up at the airport and entertained and enlightened us at every opportunity. He was helpful and his bright personality put us at ease right away. His pride for his country and culture was infectious.

It was our first time in this part of Mexico, and we found plenty to keep us occupied, including walking to the lively town square, exploring the city on foot, sightseeing in nearby Guanauato, trying out margaritas all around town, dining at some amazing restaurants, both fancy and modest, hiking the lovely Botanical Gardens, and just hanging out in the sumptuous home. Really. The decor is amazing.

We spent many hours on the rooftop garden, enjoying sunsets, the gas-powered fire pit, the hot tub, the beautiful plants and flowers, and one another's company.

The walk into town is very steep both directions, but taxies are cheap and abundant. I wouldn't want to drive on the narrow streets.

The home is so beautiful and covered with brilliant bougainvillea. Although the place is handicap accessible, the spiral staircase to the rooftop is narrow and steep and could be tricky for someone with a disability.

Overall, five stars all around.

Casa de angel is an absolutely beautiful and well kept home in San Miguel. The house is very well taken care of by Daniel and Gracia, and it is in perfect condition. We enjoyed the upstairs outdoor patio/fire-pit and grill every night and it was magical to watch New Year's fireworks all around town from our private view!

The house is beautifully decorated and has every amenity we could ask for. Actually, even better...we couldn't find grill utensils so we called Daniel to ask but told him it was not critical and no rush. Well, they were delivered within hours; Gracia personally brought them over on New Year's eve! Excellent service!

Once again, thank you, we had a wonderful week long vacation and can't wait to go back.

What a woderful phrase! It means no worries for the rest of your days!

Hakuna Matata. That is what Nena and I experienced when we stayed at Casa de angel in San Miguel de allende. We enjoyed this wonderful and stately home very much. Even the small things were done with a touch of class; like the aromatic, sweet smelling flowers palced in our rooms (tuberose). We loved them so much we planted our oun at home just for the memory. We are going back for sure and suggest you try this beutiful home when you visit San Miguel de allende. You'll be singing Hakuna Matata for the rest of your days if you do.

Casa angel was exactly as presented and perfect for our family vacation and all our get togethers. We were 11 in family plus another brother who lives in San Miguel and joined us for dinners and visiting. The home is lovely, not too far (and downhill) from el jardin and the uphill trip home was an inexpensive cab ride. We had quite a bit of rain but still really enjoyed the rooftop patio, hot tub and barbecue!

We were able to explore San Miguel, Tuesday Market, the hot baths, museums and shops and still all gather back at Casa angel for family dinners.

Daniel was a wonderful help and resource and his mom. our housekeeper, kept everything in order. With 11 of us that was no small thing. She made dinner for us our first night - it was delicious, a great introduction to San Miguel and the house, and most reasonable.

I would recommend Casa angel to anyone with great confidence.
